Regarding your question of running your QRP rig from the receiver power
While I was in college, I ran 4w AM mobile on 75m with a little homebrew
I had a Gonset mobile receiver, the one with the shiny chrome front. I ran
rig from the receiver's vibrator power supply with no trouble. It put out
at 100m, which was plenty for the little rig.
You need to check the circuit feeding the voltage point you are interested
to be sure there isn't much resistance in it. Otherwise the voltage will
down when you key your little rig.
Good luck and 73,
