Your question got me to thinking, and I searched out this program:
It's way customizable (read: complicated) but I got it to do what I want,
which is to run in the system tray on my Wintel machine (I'm using NT 4
right now) and be able to pop open a window that shows both local date/time
and UTC date/time. I have it configured to show UTC if I roll the mouse
pointer over the tray icon, and if I click it the tine zone window opens.
You can add a lot more zones to the window than just the two. I've been
wanting something like this for a while - something that can display the
local time, UTC and the time in Ireland. (We have an office there, and I
can never keep track of the difference because their Daylight Saving Time
shift dates are different from ours.)
It looks like this thing will synchronize your computer clock to an
Internet time server, too.
This thing isn't a small download - 4.?? meg - but it seems pretty
complete. I got the stable release (24 March 2000) and it seems to do what
I need. There's a newer beta version, but I don't think I'll need it.
