It's been done, back in 1971. The 6T9, A 10-Watt One-Tube Transmitter. Was
in QST, several Handbooks, How to Become a Radio Amateur. Built one, great
circuit! It performs just like a 2-tube design, which it essentially is
(two-section tube).
