Eureka!!! New way to make ladder line

Date: Fri Aug 31 2001 - 21:07:33 CDT

You know how you ponder over better ways to skin a cat so to speak or build a
better mousetrap. Well MAYBE I finally got one good idea.

Ladder line has always been one of my favorites but a real challenge making.
The pain of drilling holes in the rods and then securing the spacers was time
consuming. NO MORE. Let me share this discovery with y'all.

SPACERS: First I typically use 3-1/2 to 4inch spacers. I cut them from this
plastic water tubing at HOME DEPOT. It comes in 4-5ft lengths and is 1/4 inch
ID and 3/8 inch OD.

SECURING: What you do is run a tie wrap thru the tubing and then double it
back and then secure the tie wrap and cinch it tight around both wires. Of
course it is easier if you stretch out the two wires first and then place the
spacer in between the wires then run the tie wrap. Then just snip off the
excess tie wrap tail

It is quick, it is effective and it has made my life easier. It is really
slick. Hopefully some of you ladder line buffs can benefit from this. I made
up 60 feet of this in only a few minutes.
