Dan,

If you are using Microsoft's Outlook Express you can control your line
length as follows:

Click on Tools
Click on Options
Select the 'Send' tab
Under Mail Sending Format click the Plain Text radio button followed by
the Plain Text Settings push button. From there you will see a line that
says, "Automatically wrap text at ....."
