Subject: Hi-band 80M Module for Sierra

Currently, I am using a SM cap (~18 pF) clipped across the main tuning
cap of my Wilderness Radio Sierra to extend the upper
frequency range. This allows me to work the nets around 3686 kHz.
Although this works well and the KC-2 counter indicates the
proper frequency, I am seeking a more elegant, long-term solution.

I am planning to construct a hi-band 80M (3.600 - 3.750 MHz) module
using a standard 80M module and swapping out the crystal.
Have any of you already done this? The manual provides the information
for calculating the crystal frequency. What I am seeking is
a source for the crystal and any "tweaks" that you made to optimize the
performance.

Please respond directly to me. Although I can read this list, I am
unable to post to it - a recent problem.
