Hi Sergio,
Can't remember what kind of rig you have so it's hard to
say how crowed the band might be when you are hearing all
the other stations.
But if they are causing you QRM it really doesn't matter.
If you can't copy someone that comes back to you then you
will not have a QSO!
So if you can, move until you find a clear spot. If your
TX is crystal controled and you don't have a crystal on
a clear spot, you really don't have any choice but to wait
until it's clear.
On calling CQ.... a 3x2 call is very good. Give a listen
long enough to give someone a chance to start sending. If
nothing is heard repete the 3x2 call again. Keep doing
this until you make a QSO.
Something else to do..... when calling be sure to use
you QSK. This way if someone comes along and just hits
their key you will hear them and can stop. They will
identify and the QSO starts.
Generaly (but not always) the lower in the band you
go the faster the code speed. As your cw speed picks
up you will find yourself not caring where you are
in the band! (Paying attention to any license class
sub bands that might apply).
You have the right idea.....get on and operate! All else
will slowly start to make sense!
Enjoy,
