I prefer the BNC's but use SO-239's due to predominance
in the gear I inherited or due to the OHR-100 case being pre-cut
for the SO-239.

If you are drilling or punching your own panels without
the "D" punch and have the time, try to punch or drill
the panel smaller and finish by filing in the "D" form.

It is quite unnerving to have the antenna port connector
turn when trying to disconnect or connect your BNC to it.

This is usually followed with a rig disassembly and search
for a good wrench to hold the BNC and torque the rear nut
on tightly with. There are flavors of the SO-239 that use
a nut for panel mount, but the 4 screw hole mounts don't
move and are a good choice for heavy use.

My $.02 on the subject. 72/Ed we6w
