Here is a trick I learned many moons ago; Listen to the station you are
interested in and after a few rounds you can pick out his call, his name
and QTH when he is working others. This is all repeated over many times
to all the stations he is working and when you got it all down write what
you are going to send, basically what all the others did, and then with
the confidence of a seasoned DX-er give him a call at his speed ( we can
usually send way faster than we can receive). The contact will be over
before you know it and others will be impressed at your blinding speed.
Now if he sends something you donīt get, resort to the doomsday Q-codes such
as QRM, QRN, QSB followed by a QRT and then quickly reach for the power button.
