I don't recall ever seeing RCA connectors used on any equipment
in the U.S. Navy.
Thousands of BNC and N connectors but no RCA.
RCA connectors have failure mode that almost never happen with other
connectors, even in places where they are rarely disconnected.
I once repaired a HW-101 that had poor sensitivity and low power out.
The main problem was a poor connection of the center pin of the RCA
connector to the VFO. This is a failure I have not seen in any BNC or
