Actually the terminators used for PC based thin net networks work
well. They are alleged to be rated at 1/2 watt to 2 watts, but most
are metal cased, well shielded and have rather good heat sink capacity
with the BNC connectors etc. Even more so when you put on an SO239
type adaptor on the BNC. One is supplied with each network card but
only one is needed at the very end of the daisy chain, so they
accumulate around anywhere that network expansions are going on.
They handle 5 watts intermittently rather easily. The highest
rating I have found for one of these is 2 watts, but I suspect
those are continous duty ratings.
