I agree, and would like to add that QRP clubs, as well as organizations such
as FISTS, seem to be in high-growth mode. Local clubs, OTOH, seem to be
stagnating and dying. Our local club has almost 200 members, yet it's hard
to get more than a small group involved in any activity. Attendance averages
20-30 at the monthly meetings, especially with a good program.

Field Day, though, seems to bring everyone out. We had 31 ops/loggers in
1997,
and 1998 promises an even better turnout.
