Ahhh... I actually do remember wy this was so... there was a little known side
effect from the CMDF's miniaturization machine; voice transmissions suffered
from extreme distortion (serious "Donald Duck-itis", I guess) making CW the
only practicable means of communication. Grant was chosen for the mission
specifically for his Morse code skills, among other things.
Benes, the man whose life they were trying to save in the movie, had the
answers to this and other miniaturization problems... OK, like, we are now WAY
off topic! Back to your regularly scheduled mail reflector...

Yes! It even used proper abreviations. I often wondered why with all that
super high tech stuff, they did not use SSB or some such....
