Hi Kev,

Happy New Year to you too! And your family.

I took sometime this afternoon to put up a second dipole, longer but
less than 2 times. Its more like a cross between a long wire and dipole, a
really bastardized antenna. :-) Anyway I put it on the second antenna port
and after some snipping, managed to get it tuned up on the bands I did not
have before. Interestingly, some of the bands which could not initially be
tuned up, could, after I did a few turns of coax near the feed point, a
balun actually.

This other antenna is much closer to the building (steel reinforced
concrete) and seems quite a bit noisier. It tunes up on 10M and 80M but not
160M. That suits me fine. I thought of trying out a fan-style dipole,
basically parallel dipoles but that'd make the antenna really conspicuous
which is something I am trying to avoid with the neighbours here. :-)

I am pretty much stuck to the horizontal plane, being up on the 11th
floor and all. It's hard to find decent anchor points even.

    So, there you go.
