Gang,
My TenTec Paragon has had intermittants now and then over the
years, primarily in the various VCO modules. The problems are
wierd, like the rig will go out of lock on certain bands but
not others.
The cause is the "goop" they put on top of the parts in the
modules to mechanically hold them so they won't microphone and
for temp stability. This causes them to "work" up and down as the
temperature changes in the modules from when its cold (off) and
warm (on).
Besides resoldering the connections on the VCO boards I now leave
my Paragon "on" 24/7. No VCO problems since doing that.
