The original SLV, which used a tuner for all-band capability, is
certainly an easy homebrew project. The MMA modification made a
coil on PVC form, elevated the coil from the bottom of the antenna,
and added a sliding bar, meaning a tuner wasn't necessary anymore.
The original SLV is easy -- the MMA coil is more difficult to
homebrew (not impossible, just more difficult to replicate). Which
is why MMA sells the coils ...
