Need help with St Louis tuner

        I just started building a St Louis tuner and I'm a having trouble with
T1 and T2. Which direction should they be wound ? and are they inserted into the
board top first or bottom first ? I have one wound in each direction and I've inserted them both ways, but it just does not seem like they line up neatly with the holes in board.

Note: this msg might be a duplicate, I posted this msg several days ago, but I never saw it hit the list. And I've had no responses, which is very unlike this list.
