Preston,
          I made a HB attenuator about 20yrs ago from the details given in
          an old handbook. I used minature toggle switches, 1/4W resistors,
          and carefully cut pieces of PCB for the box and dividers between
          the sections. Also used good quality BNC connectors as junk ones
          will wear out in a hurry if you use the attenuatior much. It seems
          farily accurate as measured on commercial specturm analyzers. I
          have yet to _really_ calibrate it though.

          My question to add to this discussion is why do so many folks
          advise to use slide switches instead of toggle switches? I've
          yet had no trouble. Am I lucky?
