I've been a member of the Electronics Book Club for
about 14 years now. Their prices aren't the best
but the books are first rate hardbound.

One of my favorite books is: "Secrets of RF Circuit Design"
by Joseph J. Carr. First Edition 1991.

I recently received the Second Edition by default since
I forgot to send in the 'no order' reply. The new edition
is definately better but I haven't done a thourough comparison.
My wife scoffs at the expense so I may have to get by with
the first edition.

This is a practical book and covers Aligning old radios,
Receiver theor and Projects, and a slew of homebrewing
including:Coilwinding, Antenna construction, noise bridge,
transmatches, Emergency antennas, uhf/u-wave antennas, and
lots of troubleshooting tips.

I really like the section on refurbishing the old boatanchors!

I don't have the second edition in hand so here's the
specifics on the first edition:
Carr,Joseph J.

Check it out at the bookstore to see if you like
it before buying....
