I'm about to post this on usenet, but anyone who runs low power has to
be honest, so...
For sale: my fox-huntin' TS-830s with two optional 500hz CW filters (the
two filters give it a steep-sided variable bandwidth from 500hz to
zero), and the VFO-230 digital external VFO. This is the last Kenwood
rig with tube finals (6146's), top of the line circa 1980. Has WARC
bands, digital display.
It goes from a watt or two to 135 watts output with the turn of a knob.
The receiver includes passband tuning (IF shift) and variable bandwidth
for CW and (ugh) SSB. Speaking of SSB, the audio on receive and
transmit is wonderful; in my opinion, better than my new TS-850s.
This radio is in excellent condition cosmetically and electrically. NO
known problems, even little ones. All manuals included; VFO comes in
original box but radio does not.
