Gang:
Not to be misunderstood, let me say positively how pleased I am with the
Index QRP+ and with Bruce and his associates at Index. I am not a
technical guru, and am presently working toward several mods to tweak
up the AGC in my *particular* copy of a fairly early unit.
I am overall *very* pleased with it. I love the ergonomics--the logical
layout, the large controls, the good readout, the excellent keying
tone, the easy tuning, and lots more. It really suits this ham, as I
operate with only one arm due a severe injury. So the Index really
philosophy works FB for me.
Plus, in the very short time I have owned this one (about two weeks)
have added six new DXCC countries, with absolutely no chasing or
contesting. Incredibly, two of them answered my CQ! The rig was running
into a TNT/2 Windom at only 29', pointing east-west.
I have always been well-treated by Bruce and his associates at Index.
They have always returned calls and been obviously interested in
answering questions from the field.
Guess I hope we owners do not lose this. This kind of attention and
personal interest in the enduser/fellow ham is a wonderful thing, So I
want no one to read my earlier remarks as intended to be caustic or
overly critical. In fact, I want to be an encourager to Bruce and his
associates during what must be a difficult time for everyone.
I am saying, let's don't lose a good thing, and let's carry it over
clear into the new series. Seems to me if the new SGC/Index works as
expected, it could be *a great thing* for all of us QRPers!
