Fellow QRP'ers!
I LOVE this stuff!! I know I carry on alot about this - but
it's only because sometimes I'm amazed at what we can do
with so little power!
Tonight I get on the old HW-8 and go for it around 7040,
within a minute or so I get answered by a KC7RME in
Tuscon, Arizona! He gave me 579 and he was the same.
His name was Rick and when I told him I was working
an HW-8 at around 4 watts he came back with:
AD4SS DE KC7RME R FB HOW MANY WATTS DID YOU
SAY ERIC ? K
I told him again - FOUR.
He came back with:
AD4SS DE KC7RME R FB 4 WATTS I CANT BELIEVE IT HI
(I didn't even TELL him I had a homebrew shoddily built
40m dipole in my ATTIC!)
So I guess folks (I'm just learning the "SPORT" of QRP) I guess
part of the thrill is what comes back to you from the other side -
I'd bet a lot of folks didn't even think it POSSIBLE to do what you
and I do every day! Perhaps we QRP'ers will open some eyes out
there in the Ham world? Perhaps we'll show folks that you don't
HAVE to spend mega-bucks that you don't have on equipment!
We're evangelists for QRP! This is fun!
