Just when I was ready to chuck it all in the dumpster, I answered a
very weak CQ on 20 meters in the late afternoon on my puny wire
dipole and got an immediate answer! A 559 report from Kamchatca.
Of course I was running the full five watt limit. I am good for
another two dozen hours of frustration...

Still don't know why I can't find US stations. Must be the mountains
or the interaction with the building. My antenna is nowhere more than
three feet from grounded reinforced concrete.
