Hi to all Dan's defenders....I appreciate your taking time to write
and express opinions on his service. Perhaps it's time for me to take
a step back and admit that Life is a learning process....and my turn may
have just come up.
The trouble we've had here with Dan was some years back..3or 4 I
believe. Reading the responses here on the list, it appears to me that
his latest effort in the parts selling racket has been admirable, and
hopefully successful. Anyone who can stay in business selling little
boxes of piece parts deserves our (my) respect. Fortunatly, we've got a
fellow here in Bozeman who's gone out of his way to keep us all in parts
and is a dedicated supporter of those few of us left who still burn
solder. He is however getting on toward retirement and will eventually
bag the business, hopefully to be succeeded by another dedicated sole.
As a self employed Communications gear repairman, I'd love to be able to
deal with someone here in state and save the rediculous "minimum order"
requirements from some of the bigger suppliers. Perhaps Dan's the man.
To me...it's worth another shot.
Part of what I do here in the Mtns is to assist newcomers into the hobby
in finding kits, parts and whatever else they'd need to get their
fingers into the hardware side of radio....especially Qrp. We've
on occasion had to redesign circuits and stages due to lack of parts
for the projects....often not achieving the desired result due to the
change. So...to have a dependable supply of parts this close would
be a real blessing.
Therefore, if one of you would be so kind as to forward me Dan's latest
address, I'll be after him for a catalog and whatever other information
I can garner about his Qrp rig efforts, and if I can get him on the
phone, I'll see if I can find any info that'd be of interest to the
group.
In addition, those of you who are trying for WAS on your new 38S rigs
can contact me...I'll do what I can to meet you on 30 meters for your
Qso.
This has been a "Spirited" disscussion, but time to end it has come.
And, time also to consider one's position and attempt to be further
educated by life's schoolbooks.
Thanks to all
