Hi people!
I don't have an ant program so thought I'd ask you folks.
I'm going to construct a horizontal loop at my QTH.
I'm in a two story so my plan is to run steel wire (cheap) around
the overhang of my roof (abt 20 feet high). The north end will leave the
structure and extend to a palm tree then east to a 20 ft pole then south to
another 20 ft pole then back to roof overhang. Probably abt 150 feet. All
contact areas will be insulated with
PVC stand-offs.
I plan on feeding it with what I have available, (cheap) a 1:1 current balun
fed by RG8X. I know 450 ohm ladder line would/SHOULD be better but!
Since I'm planning 10 thru 160 meter use (tuner) I am not going to measure
wire length just put up the MOST surface area I can.
I also use an G5RV style inverted Vee fed with 450 ohm open line.
What can I expect from this loop?
Would no balun be better?
Would a 200 foot tower with a 180 element multiband beam be better?
Would a telephone be better?
Would my own satellite be.....well you know the rest!
All comments appreciated.

be AT11 kit)
