Gang,
1. QRP-L is just a mailer, not a defined organization or
club. No rules (other than orderly discussions or
an attempt at orderly discussions related to QRP
activities) and no officers and no dues.
Thus, please don't say that QRP-L said.
2. In defense of Dan's Small Parts, I have been ordering
parts and kits from Dan for many many years and have
not had a problem at any time. Sometimes some delay
beyond the control of Dan, but he has managed to come
through everytime. Some of the kits are going away,
so those that waited are gonna be crying pretty soon.
Now to go and blast Dan's Small Parts just because you can't
run over to his house and pick something up is a little much.
IMHO. Give the guy a break, please. He only does mail order
and does provide a lot of stuff that you can't get anywhere
else and certainly at good prices.
So, for the record QRP-L as a group has not singled out Dan for
any reason, only one individual posting to this group in many
many years has chosen to do so without substantial data that
I can see to warrant such a treatment. Dan did discontinue
business for a period of time and then came back. There
were some out of line postings to this group at the time
as to why and of no concern to any of us, so don't bring it
up again, please.
So, the topic is closed as far as I and I am sure many others
are hopefully concerned. We had a large number of atta-boys posted
for Dan, so I think many can see that the community at large doesn't
seem to be having any difficulty at this time or even in the past.
Remember people. You as an individual are legally libel
for anything that you post in public, so be very very careful.
Some of the lawyers on the group can voice some points of law
on this topic I'm sure. To post something that has a financial
impact or reflects on one's character are topics that should
be avoided in this day and age and hopefully on this group too.
Besides that remember that some member or members will most likely
print off your posting and fax or email them to the party or
parties involved if they are not a part of this group.
That is a given. Behind the scenes I get calls and I get email
about this stuff going on. You wouldn't believe.........
I live in fear that someday someone is gonna come along and
cause someone to close us down as a group. It could happen.
Any group that talks about UFOs, badgers, finger nail polish,
and using toothbrushes for purposes other than brushing teeth
has gotta be suspect in a lotta other organizations. :-)
So be careful out there gang.
