While your waiting for the kit suggestion, why don't
you build the pixie2? You'll probably need a small
xcvr like this to help you align the kit anyway!
Being Direct conversion it puts out the xtal frequency
even without keying. Build two and give one to a fellow
ham.
One thing you'll wish you had is a frequency counter and
a scope that goes above 20 MHz. Also, check out the
simple swr/pwr mtr projects YOU can build from the
Ham Radio Operators book.. OK Handbook...
