I picked up a radio shack frequency counter today. It was only sale for
$79. After I read the small print, it stated that the maximum input to
the freq. counter must not exceed 1.4 peak-to-peak. The counter comes
with a BNC connection and a whip antenna. You can diconnect the whip and
hook a high impedance probe to the bnc connector. You can also switch
the input impedance to either 50 ohnms to hi.
My question is this: If I have a high impedeance probe hooked up, what
is the max power I can send to the counter before it is toast? How much
power is 1.4 ptp into a hi-Z load?
I assume it will be OK to connect it to a VFO or LO output, just not the PA.
Thanks,
Kory
