Well, it was an evening with a lot of firsts. First, lets get the
contacts reported:

10.113 0120Z W9KI 559 AR HOWARD 5 W
10.113 0132Z KM7W 449 TN MARTY 4 W

40M

7.113 0217Z KF6CTA 449 CA DICK 4 W
7.113 0225Z K5ZTY 579 TX BILL 5 W

7.118 0255Z AA9KU 599 IL HOWIE 4.8 W
7.118 0307Z W4NBD 579 KY ART 100 W

There were several, I am sure who called but I could not get the call or
could barely hear. On 30M, I was running my stock HW-9 which truly needs
a bit of work and a filter. Between the rig and my lack of skill, I am sure
I lost lots of you, and for that I am indeed truly sorry.

On 40M, the rig was my Ten-Tec Argo 515, so any problems here were strictly
mine. I made several pee breaks during the hours, so if I was really gone,
that is one reason. Another reason is that, if I feel another station is
a bit close, I will shuffle off to find a free space rather than try to
kick sand in their face. That is why I shifted a few times. Anyway, I at
least always tried to be courteous.

I apologize to WD4IPK?? or WD4IKU?? I just couldn't get the call in there.
If anyone enjoyed my attempt here and can offer some constructive advice, I'd
appreciate it via direct email. I am relatively new at this, but having a
  great time.

I am looking forward to Marshall's report to see how bad he skunked me !!

Also, all the QSL cards for you folks are in the mail, waiting for the
postman to pick up the cards in the big blue box in Black Forest, CO.

Lessons learned: Know what frequency I am on - I need the calibrators for
each of my rigs. Build the 38s - the HW-9 was a bit too close in the
area we were playing with. Get a filter for these beasts - I was running
the HW-9 dry and a filter would have helped. Call QRL?? I did this in
most cases when I shifted. Towards the end, I found a quiet spot, sent
QRL? and got a resounding DAH-DI-DAH-DAH DIT DI-DI-DIT right back !! He
must have been next door to me !!!

72 es thx fer the opportunity !!!
