Many of these "complainers" are just fishing for something to talk
about. Acouple of Summers ago I was operating QRP SSB from a
mountaintop cabin in central Calif. I answered a CQ from a strong
station in NY state, and we had a nice chat. He was very interested in
my battery power rig, antenna, solar charger, etc. Then, after about 15
minutes, I told him my power level. On the next transmission he
started to complain about "you low power guys" and then got downright
belligerant about making him do all the work! Up to the point that I
mentioned my power level, Iwas S8, and "great copy". So much of this is
just mental...Go figure...
