Check the older arrl handbooks. It can be a lot of fun and a good
learning experience. You can get all the parts you would need from Fair
Radio Sales . I am reworking a scope built for RTTY tunning many years
ago to monitor 800 hz BPSK signals. Get the CRT first (3bp1, 5bp1, or
similiar) then build the power supply around it. Very little current is
needed. Need some got variable resistors (pots). It is a easy week end
project. Also you can pick up old scope for $5 at most hamfests. ask at
the local ham club meeting and someone may give you one.

After you have built one, you will know what you want in a scope when you
buy a nice one.
