My 38S is still feeling poorly. At pin 11 U4A I get 10.1 out on the freq
counter and a decent sine wave but on pin 12 the counter shows 8.8MHz. Since
I won't see another U4 until next tuesday I went to the receiver side.
All the required voltages check out except for the banded sides of D1 and D2.
Here I have 5V on receive (8V on transmit). According to the information
found on the list that point should be zero volts. I am reading the voltage
from the banded side of D1/D2 to ground. I checked and found no short from
this point to ground.
The diodes check ok forward and reversed bias (in circuit) and I show 1.3K
from the banded side of D1/D2 to U2/5,6 U4/7 and banded side of D7.
Voltages to ground for U2/5,6 and U4/7 are in the mV range on receive.
I have the tick mod installed and its working quite well.
Anybody been here before?
