Well, I was at Deep Creek Lake (Western MD) for three days (sort of)
Tuesday afternoon till Thursday afternoon.

I set up a 40-meter dipole held by the gutter in the center, a tree
limb at 15 feet for one leg, and a fence at three feet for the other
leg. Not the best but the best I cud manage.

I used a gel cell batt at 12.5 Volts & the lil MFJ 9040. I had seven
contacts, from just made it to 27 min rag chew, tho most were just a
bit better than just bare contact. Total time on the are in QSO's
was: 81 min.

Contacts were: AA0IO/Charles/MO, KF4OKF/Tory/FL, CM2KC/Richard/Cuba,
W9ZWV/Forrest/WI, AD4WQ/Shelby/TN, W1IWP/Ben/MA, and N7IJD/4/Nic/NC.

The last, Nic was the only one who answered my CQ. It was my last for
this trip. Packed everything up Thursday morning & that was all. The
trip & mini-vacation were too short.

The OHR-400 kit arrived while I was on vacatio, now, to make the time
to get it up & running....

72 & 73 de KE3FL/Phil
:-)
