Bill....it is the location for the second crystal that Ori made
provisions for so that a standard half-lattice crystal filter could
be implemented in the 38S. I didn't use the half-lattice implementation
because I didn't want to mess around with custom crystals. Instead,
I used a 2 crystal ladder configuration. The second crystal uses the
X401 location, but you also have to do some tin smithing on the pc board
traces to get everything in. See my earlier post with all of the
modifications.
