> I didn't include any remarks because the survey requested call and
band. Well here it is. In a 6 month period in 1993 with a vxo xmtr. at 1
watt, Drake r4-c and inverted vee up 35 feet fed by 100 ft. of rg-58c/u i
worked 41 states and 20 countries inc. VK9.From sept. 95 until june 96 with
various antennas(dipole, quad loop,G5rv,2 half waves in phase which turned
into 2 full waves fed 1/2 wave off center, and finally a half square) from
30 to 52 ft. high and 4 watts output from an MFJ-9030, i worked 94 countries
and 48 states. Now, with the NN1G rig from nov.94 QST at 950 mw.out , since
Jan. 21st, 1997 to date(lil over 2 months) and using a 20 meter LAZY H at
35/65 ft. i've
>worked 39 states and 21 countries. WAS and WAC are going to be relatively
easy to do. DXCC can be done eventually. Competition is much less fierce
with the rest of you guys stalking DX on 40 meters. I like the combination
of propagation and band loading on 30 meters. I'm not a rabid Dx'er anymore
and just like to do it casually. I don't worry too much if i don't get a
card. I'll get one eventually. Qrp represents the fun that amateur
>radio was for many of us early on and is respite from complex radio that
some of us work in daily! The 30 meter band is a friendly, casual, easy
going band where Qrp'ers have high visibility, and excellent chances to work
the world. Even the antenna requirement is less arduous. Thank God we can
speculate on our favorite band without losing our priviledges on the others,
BUT....if i could only have one, i'd pick 30 meters!
