Good evening to my good friend and brother Max - -

I think your final statement pretty well sums it up: we can all benefit from
each other regardless of what our personal interests and thrusts are. I
personally don't think there is a need for additional labels, and in fact I
tend to not like labels anyway because too often someone else will take
offense at them.

We all have different interests in the hobby: some like to operate, some like
to design, some like to build, some like to putter around the shack, some buy
their equipment, some build antennas, some backpack, some go mobile, some hate
CW, some are Extras, some write software, some are Technicians, some are
female, some like kits, some are double-e's, some like females (oops), some
like packet, some operate satellites, some like the ARRL, some like DX, some
love 160 meters, and some even like Wayne Green.

Not one of these personal preferences makes any one of us any better or worse
a ham or QRP'er than anyone else. Max has bought much of his equipment and
couldn't backpack it with much less than a pack mule. That's ok, and he's
still a QRP'er in my book. The guy in the ARS Sprint with the 1000 Q's per
pound ratio is a QRP'er too, but no more and no less than Max. The guy with
five watts and more antennas and rigs than W6AM is still a QRP'er, as is the
guy with a 49'er and an SLV.

Diversity is what makes this world (and this hobby) great. The fact that we
don't have to always agree on everything makes this world great too. God made
us all different and we'll allways stay that way.

'Nuff said. Good to hear from you Max.

Oh, well.

72's es 73's,

Brad, WB0CGH
