Gang,
I'm reading a pretty fair book on Oscilloscopes that's available from JDR
electronics. It's a Tab book, so it may also be available at local
electronic stores. title, "Troubleshooting with your Triggered-Sweep
Oscilloscope" by Robert L. Goodman.
It includes descriptions of some current model scopes, including the use and
purpose of each panel control. Just bought a used scope and it covered all
I need to learn the controls. (although my scope was not one of the ones in
the book) It has about 6 pages on probes.
Also has some troubleshooting procedures for TVs and VCRs. It includes some
stuff related to scopes, like waveform analysis and spectrum analysis. It's
not a primer, exactly, but it does include the basics and some applications.
