Gang:
With reluctance I have decided to part with my beloved ARK-20. It is pristine
condition, and is one of the most effective rigs I have ever used.
The rig was built about 9 months ago by Dick himself at S & S Engineering. He
designed the rig and is head of the firm. So it is professionally aligned and
tweaked, and works flawlessly.
Has the built-in keyer, and one of the smoothest QSK's ever. It is very quiet,
sensitive, selective. OF course one of it's best features is dead-on accurate
tuning and stability. When you set the frequency, it stays right there--no
drifting, no chirp, no warble. Plus you can set a sked and know that you are
dead-on the right frequency. This is because it has digital synthesized tuning.
The feeling you get when using the ARK-20 is ultra precision, a really solid
feel overall. It is built to milspecs, and I believe you could drive a car over
the extruded aluminum case. It would be a great rig for FD or other portable
operation, though it has never been operated in such an environment.
I really like the rig. But I have too many rigs, along with some unexpected
medical expenses related to the loss of the use of my right arm. Plus, this rig
needs to be on the air more than it is presently.
Original factory-built cost was about $380.00, but I will sacrifice it for only
$245.00 which includes UPS shipping in the continental U.S.A. Willing to
include a 2500mAH gel cell, if you could use it.
