Well,

had to have some therapy this AM, so only did 1/2 my exercises and
no reading early this AM.

First I turned on my Dan's NW8020. The 20m band was not quite
awake. Tuned around and heard a very weak DL, gave him a call. He
came back to me immediately. Seems my signal was getting out
better than his. This rig really seems to get through.. except for
a few problems which are minor (and none are asssociated with the
design of the rig, all associated with the fact that I got the
Dan's Small parts version), this rig does a GREAT job.

Next I switched on my Wilderness Norcal 40A. heard a W0 station
calling around 7.040. I talked to him for a while. I fellow QRPer
using a Ten Tec 556? We naturally started talking about QRP
...probably would still be talking if the band hadn't got a little
ill :-( At one point there was a very strong QRO station about on
top of us. I turned the RIT a little and was able to continue the
QSO. I played with the RIT and was once again amazed at the
receiver in the Norcal 40A. It seems to do a better job without an
extra filter than the Index QRP++ does with the SCAF.

Guess my new dream rig is a Sierra with KC2 and LDG QRP tuner..
may have to trade off a bunch of stuff :-)
