Hiya All...

First off, those that have my e-mail address in their "personal" bookmarks,
please change it to the new one. My previous provider decided, on short
notice, to terminate dialup customers and put me in a slight bind last
weekend. ANyway, it's straightened out and this address should be good for
a while...

To those that have not been able to get to my homepage in the past week or
so, it too is fixed, and the address remained the same on it.

Got my 38s up and running but haven't made any contacts yet. 5 watt mod done
and it looks okay on the scope, sounds good on the Icom 735 also.

In fact, it was nice not having any e-mail last weekend. I finished up a
couple of projects and started a couple of new ones. Cleaned up the
communications/project building/put the dog when she can't be anywhere
else/spare bedroom. Got more spare parts than I realized, and now have an
extra large work table in addition to the regular work bench. This is in
addition to the normal operating area.

Started checking out the HW-8 for QRP-TTF. Plan to make a couple of
external mods to help it be a better machine for this event. Plan to take
the 40-9er and 80-9er also.
Continued stripping out the HW-7 for a total rebuild from scratch. I
realize we plan to keep most of our toys forever and just tack parts on here
and there, but it really doesn't take that much time once the mod works to
put them in "properly". It would make it nice for whomever gets it when you
get tired of it. This poor radio has been moded so many times it's not sure
what model it is. And many of the mods done and undone were done sloppily.
Got a super receiver board from Randy, WJ4P, that fixed a lot of the
receiver problems, but so many other things were out of wack I'll take it
back top the start and go again...

Really enjoy the chatter on the reflector this week, especially the
DEBUGGING!!! One of those posts triggered something in my head (caused a
headache) and I was able to fix one of the other radios laying around the
room. THANKS GUYS...

Enough for now....
