Of course, the list isn't two-way, but roundtable ... More like a
net than a single QSO.
Nevertheless, I try to respond with a "thanks" to everyone who
responds to me, even if after the 20th time it may be less than
sincere ...
One problem I'm having is that questions asked on the list are
answered privately (this seems to be the only list I have
participated in that has this issue). For instance, I've been
looking for an answer on the variation of voltages on the 38S
question for three days, and haven't seen a one. Answering the
questions publically might create some "dupes", but if the answers
are consistent, then we have confirmation. If they are different,
then we have a problem of general interest that the discussion will
benefit from (man, I really have trouble with dangling prepositions
today).
Remember: For every question asked on the list, there are 10 people
who, unknown to anyone, are looking for the answer. Easier, IMHO,
to have three answers than 20 people asking the same question.
So far I'm specifically looking to answers to questions offered by
other posters:
1. Case suggestions
2. "Ideal" modification solutions
3. 38 Special "thump"
4. After alignment, 38 Special still has problems
5. Debugging the 38 Special -- where to start, what to look for
This is just a sample -- obviously every question concerning the 38
special I'm interested in the answer, since I have a non-functioning
one at this point. I've been talked into debugging it myself. I'll
feel better about that decision when it works ... :)
So, yes, I'm begging that answers (at least *one*) be posted
publically to the list, so that all might benefit.
And, yes -- you should at least say "thank you for responding to my
message!"
In my faith, today is forgiveness sunday, and I beg each of you
individually and collectively for your forgiveness if I have
offended or harmed you in word, deed, or thought.
