I'm glad you asked that, cause I didn't know either about the RS goop,
but I do now - it works just fine. I admit to sticking the probes of my
VOM in a dab of the stuff to see if it electrically conducted prior to
use...........

BTW, you do have to use the small sheet of plastic/mica between the
device and the cabinet wall, and RS sells that too, if you haven't
snagged that yet. Throw out the metal screw & grommet that comes with
the RS heatsink kit, though, and get a nylon one at hardware/Sears/etc.
I had a problem where the grommet broke, screw touched, and poof.
Probably due to vibration in my vehicle/mobile environment......
