The antenna connector supplied by Heath was a chassis-mounted phono connector.
Many of us replaced them with either BNC or UHF connectors.
The key jack wants to see a standard 1/4 inch headphone type plug, mono, not
stereo.
The rig by itself is very light, about equal to a book, I would say.
I don't have mine close to me right now, but size is about equal to two cigar
boxes stacked.
If you feel like digging into the qrp-l archives, there are some articles on
mods for the HW-8.
Also, I remember someone, I think Larry W1HUE/7, collects and forwards HW-8
modification info to those who are interested.
