The Ten Tec Cubbie tends to hiss at low volumes, especially with
headphones. Well, in my case it WAS the headphones that were the problem.
The were cheap Sony phones from a Walkman.

The cord was too short so I picked up a pair on sale at Radio Shack for 20
bux, reg 30 bux, that has the in-line volume control. The fix is simple,
slide the volume down a bit on the headphones and up a bit on the radio and
PRESTO, NO NOISE.

Now I am glad I procrastinated and did not build the little audio
transformer contraption I saw on this list over the summer.
