Tim,
Shhhhhhh, remember what we tell them Texans & Californians about New
Mexico ? It's 140 deg F, here, in the summer & - 80 deg. F in the
winter, plus the wind blows @ 200 mph, both ways, at the same time. We go
to the beach front properties, in Alaska, just for the warmer wx, in the
winter. ;-) Oh, yeah, we are out of water too. Bring Your' own. ;-)
Interesting side tidbit, to our FYBO fun, that airplane, whose photo is
in the following URL;
was towing a magnetometer, and other equipment. The aircraft's mission
was funded out of Canada ("The Albuquerque Journal", March 4, 1997).
Hmmmmm, I wonder what those Canadians are up to ?? Invasion ? Tunneling ?
;-) Uh, they can have California & Texas :-) . Evidently, that
aircraft was mapping the crust of the earth, down to the fault zones (Rio
Grande, Rio Puerco), plus the aquifers. The area that they are mapping is
in between two extinct volcanos (Mt. Taylor & Valle Grande). Do they know
something ?
Now we return You to our abie-normal programming.
One Small Wonder's Labs (bensondj@aol.com) GM-15 on order, one GM-17 in
house, the bands are opening & I hear very few State side Stations. Where
is everyone ? Chuck (K5FO) is it time for the 17 meters band study ?
Don't forget this Saturday, the HAARP Test from Gakona, Alaska. Details
in the archives of this list & at the following URL;
http://members.aol.com/lwcanews/
plus the NE QRP Club meeting @ W1AW (March 9th, details from W1FMR). Hey,
I will be listening.
