I have an HW-100 and hadn't considered its value/use as a QRP rig.
Wasn't sure it could effectively be turned down to 5W and below. Would
be very interested if you or others could suggest ways to do this.
The HW-100 has been sitting gathering dust for some number of years, and
I'm not particularly married to the concept of keeping vintage equipment
vintage, so I'd consider some alterations along these QRP lines. (Plus,
I'd been searching in the background for a tube rig to be whipped up for
home-station-only QRP ... I miss the smell and warm glow of those tubes
in wee hours of the night from years gone by.)
And BTW, I'll check to see if the schematic of the power supply is in
the HW manual (gotta believe it is). If you'd like a copy of it, Dave,
send me your address.
