Bill,
No specifics in the great RG cable list on the Web.
http://laplaza.taos.nm.us/~ebear/coaxlist.html
Check it out. Everything from RG-5 to RG-385.
But, the rule is that the smaller the size, the higher the capacitance, the
higher the loss. RG-88U says "pulse". It seems large looking at the OD. If
it is solid poly inner dielectric, it's probably usuable as a good HF line.
Probably I'd not use it above 6 meters. Put a connector on each end a measure
the loss at a bunch of frequencies. Give us a report!

Subject: Value of RG-88 ??
Yes, that's right - - RG-88 A/U. I got about 130 feet of it as a gift, and
it looks pretty interesting because it is a tripple braided 52 ohm coax.
Anyway, is this coax still produced? I cannot see any listing of this coax
in the 94' Handbook, and the older Hanbooks (1981, 1974 an 1968) does not
list the coax either. I wonder if anyone on the list(s) know how much this
stuff costs per foot? And is it 52 ohms as I suspect?
Is this coax commonly used for VHF/UHF? I wonder if it is as effective
as Carol Cable 9913 (probably not..).
