Marty, Make sure you calc the lengths and make them a bit longer.
Then place the antenna up & in the configuration you want & then prune
to your hearts content. It's what you have to do with even one
dipole. However, with two I would get close, say 2:1 on one, then
adjust the other & see if there was a change on the first & re-adjust.
(Which is why I wouldn't cut the first to a "perfect" 1:1 before
seeing what a change onthe second would do to the SWR.
Not sure there is a best one to adjust first. Follow the above & you
should be able to get it right for your location.
