Something that's been bothering me for a long time: CW is under attack.
Especially on the net, I've heard so many really angry, hateful words
spoken about the thing that's given me so much joy, relaxation, and
escape from the daily grind for more than 40 years.
I know I'm preaching to (many) of the converted here, but ---- DAMMIT!
Aren't there enough 'channels' for people to chat on SSB and FM? Maybe
clean up some of the garbage, broadcasting, drunks, etc. and there would
be even more room.
I belong to the ARRL and to QCWA primarily because these organizations
seem to support CW. I'm really worried that in my lifetime I'm going to
see some serious reduction in spectrum available for CW - heck, I'm
already seeing it: we are sharing most of the available bands with more
and more digital stuff every day, not to mention illegal SSB (and legal
SSB from outside of the US).
I don't know what to do except support those groups that support CW, and
encourage its use -as we QRP'ers are doing- as much as possible. As far
as ol' Wayne is concerned, forget it. He's lost it. Just don't buy the
magazine.
Well, as someone previously said, time to go comb my beard, cash my
social security check and fart.
