     Gang:

I feel like Andy Rooney, just thinkin' away here -

Saw the solar report on the ARRL web page. Says that
ole sol is lagging from where the predicting bodies
were hoping for by this point (spots and flux). Hope
things change for the better this spring/summer. Guess
it's all in attitude: any time I fire up the rig, make
a good QSO (domestic or DX) with a few watts, I consider
it a thrill. As things get better, this should really be
     exciting!

Has anybody used the little 6 meter radio by MFJ (9406, I
think)? Been thinking of trying out 6 meters and wondering
to go the MFJ route, or the TT transverter kit. Pros and
cons of both? I know the MFJ is very hard to locate, every-
     body is always back-ordered.

Also, on the subject of propagation: all the material I've
read say that as the solar activity increases the high bands
get better (what many are waiting for!), but the low bands
tend to get worse (160/80/40). Anybody have a sort of simple
answer, as most books don't elaborate on the details. Is it
due to greater absorbsion on the low bands?

     TIA (thanks in advance).
